Related to the News post that just went up: http://cmubuggy.org/news/2016/05/specia ... elections/
We are constantly looking for ways to better serve the buggy community both on the student side and the alumni side. To that end, we are looking to create some new positions to help fill those gaps and also break them down into bite-size chunks.
As of now, all of the current officers have pledged to stay on another year, but there are certainly areas that we might be able to expand to.
Some positions we are looking to fill:
Webmaster (We need to revamp cmubuggy.org badly)
Vice President (What has this role been in the past?)
Examples of potential new roles
Alumni Events Coordinator (Organizes campus events for Raceday, Ceilidh, others?)
-Doesn't have to be local, would contact volunteers for panels and talks, work with AR to reserve rooms, book catering, ect.
Student Events Coordinator (Organizes events for students, Receptions, Happy hrs, ect)
-Probably should be Pittsbrugh local, would work with Sweepstakes to schedule student engagement events, talks, participation in walks, assist with publicity, ect.
What else you got?

Re: 2016 Elections and new Roles
Our Reginal outreach position has opened up as Jillian has taken on too much up in NYC and will be focusing on other things. She did some great work already and we could really use someone to continue her work!

Re: 2016 Elections and new Roles
I'll run for VP. I've got the time and interest to do the job, and I bring solid organizational skill to the table.
Looking back at the election thread from 2010, the VP was described as someone who assists the other officers in their projects, and coordinates with Sweepstakes as necessary. Really, I've already been doing those things kind of freelance. I've been working with Ben, Revo, and McCue to improve the History pages (I've been finding errors, missing data, and bugs, as well as contributing about 6 years worth of roster data I had available). I have a good rapport with Ben, and have had conversations with him recently about how the BAA can better fulfill its mission. And, I've casually spoken with several recent members of Sweepstakes, and heard their earnest concerns about difficult topics relating to the rules, safety, and overall participation. So, I think I'll be a natural fit for the VP role.
That being said, I see some room for improvement in BAA's pursuit of its mission. I think it is important for the BAA to function in a way that is well-organized, goal-oriented, and transparent, and I want to help make that happen.

I hear no challenges, shall we put it to a vote?jeremytuttle wrote:I'll run for VP. I've got the time and interest to do the job, and I bring solid organizational skill to the table.
