This thread is the place to post any exciting drama, rumors, or observations from the Truck Weekend FRs, so those of us starved for buggy news can have a morsel upon which to gnaw whilst waiting for the Official Rolls Report to be filed later this week.
Who walloped the hay bales the hardest?
Who spun the worst?
Any flips in the corner?
New and exciting tire colors?
Speed news -- who's fast, and who's not?

That sounds like fun, I'll get right on it since I have all this time to waste.

Chinese firewall you say? You're on my side of the world? Where in China are you? If you're in Shanghai and will be through Raceday we should meet up for the races (I am assuming as a buggy alum you will not kill me if I invite you to my place to watch, maybe this is not a safe assumption though).Ben wrote:Woah woah woah,

Yea, I'm in China right now and actually near Shanghai. but I'm flying out tomorrow so that I can be in Pitt for raceday, sorry.
Currently in Ningbo a few hrs south for the past few days, but I'm in Shanghai proper tonight before my flight tomorrow morning.

FAUX ROLLS REPORT #1
Reprising a canine attack from years earlier, a rogue elephant lurched from Flagstaff Hill this morning and attempted to copulate with a SDC buggy on the back hills, nearly drowning the driver in elephant ejaculate.
An emergency meeting of the Sweepstakes Safety Committee resulted in an emergency rule requiring all drivers to wear full body condoms while in their buggies. Research continues to try to determine if the ejaculate is classifiable as a flammable liquid, and if SDC will be penalized for its use.

Re: Truck Weekend 2012 Headline News
Heh. Since the official thread is busy with the bottom end of the field, what about the top end?
We've gotten used Fringe being the epitome of mechanical competence, but on Saturday, Bissa had multiple mechanical failures on the same roll. They got it fixed for Sunday, but then uncharacteristically lost a minor hatch. Just a run of bad luck? Or has the rush to finish the the new buggy distracted them from their usual strengths, and will it affect them on raceday?
With the wet roads, nobody was going fast on Sunday. It seemed clear who was in touch with their buggy and who wasn't. Almost everyone turned in too quick on their first roll before correcting - slippery road? or did going much slower than the day before throw off their sense of timing? Will this day of anti-practice have an effect when the time comes to go fast again?
Normally, understeer is hidden, but it looked like some teams (PiKA, SigEp) needed more of their steering range than normal to get around the course on Sunday.
