It's September, and you know what that means...it's time for another 100+ Years of Buggy History article. This year, we look back on 2023. We're finally back on the tracks after COVID knocked us off, with a full year of Rolls with decent weather and 2 full days of racing! And not only are we back on the tracks, but we're expanding them, with the first new competitive division since 1979! Of course, you can't have the good without the bad, and Raceday 2023 ended up being particularly controversial, as one organization got into trouble with the school, one team saw their victory erased, and one team's winning streak would come to an end...a month before Raceday.

Learn MoreBuggy (also called "Sweepstakes") is a unique race that has been held on and behind the Carnegie Mellon University campus during the spring carnival since 1920. It is part uphill relay race (in which the baton is a vehicle and driver pushed by runners), and part downhill gravity racing with exciting sharp turns and speeds up to 40mph.
